ABOUT JACKOPIERCE
Jack O’Neill & Cary Pierce (Jackopierce) got their start as theater majors at SMU.
They played anywhere they could – eventually growing a huge national fan-base with their nonstop, grassroots touring ethic.
In the 90’s, they got signed to A&M records and their critically acclaimed major-label debut, “Bringing on the Weather” was produced by legendary 12-time Grammy Winner, T Bone Burnett.
They went on to sell over half a million albums – touring on 3 continents, in 10 countries, in 44 states. They appeared on Conan, Rosie O’Donnell, in People magazine and on countless other TV shows and publications. They’ve shared stages with everyone from John Mayer and Dave Matthews to Lyle Lovett and Sheryl Crow.
But in late ’97 Jack and Cary decided to part ways to pursue solo careers. Jack moved to Manhattan and worked as an actor in the highly acclaimed Bat Theater Company while Cary became a sought after writer/producer for artists like Jack Ingram, Graham Colton, Chris Tomlin and others. But their solo careers never seem to catch the fire that they had together.
Then in 2002, after much coaxing and a lot of phone calls from friends, the Dallas duo decided to test the waters of what a “JP” reunion might look like. Two sold out shows at the legendary Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas (with hundreds of people left in the streets with no tickets) made them realize – “the water is warm!” – and the fans were eager to have Jackopierce back!
Since then, Jackopierce continues to play most major cities once a year. They have also begun focusing on producing high-end Destination Shows in places like Asheville (Biltmore Estate), Aspen, Austin, Martha’s Vineyard (Aug 17), Santa Barbara (June 8), Sonoma and beyond.
Their latest album, “Everywhere All the Time” can be found at all online retailers and can be heard free at their website, www.jackopierce.com. Cary Pierce serves on the Art House Dallas Creative Council.
